Using the Traveller’s Cheques – Good Idea or Bad Idea?

The travellers' cheques are holiday money which can be spent at hotels, restaurants etc. Though they are not accepted widely as a form of currency but in some destinations, they can be accepted. Many banks ask people to sign the cheques right away in order to protect the money.

Well, you can cancel or replace your travellers' cheques anytime and that is the main benefit of it. This is in sharp contrast to carrying cash in the wallet. Indirectly these cheques get accepted anywhere by simply converting it into cash.
However, there is a hassle involved in exchanging and acquiring the each cheque. Many smaller towns on destination spot might not accept it if they don’t have service to cash them out. Photo identification and commission charges might be charged if you are thinking of exchanging the cheque for local currency.
